Built by emergency physicians who saw the gap at sea
As emergency physicians, our co-founders understood the confusion and risk that follow when a medical problem is not managed early. At sea, that risk is sharper, because the nearest hospital can be days away.
Through decades of supporting vessels at sea and consulting as experts on maritime medical claims, Drs. Ray and Ann Jarris saw that crews needed a different approach to medical support. After repeated requests from vessel operators, they founded Discovery Health MD in October 2016 and began remote medical advisory services in January 2017.
