Fire Extinguisher Live Fire

Most people have never discharged an extinguisher. The first time should not be the day something is burning.

Price range: $550.00 through $700.00

What this course is

Does OSHA require hands-on fire extinguisher training?

Does OSHA require hands-on fire extinguisher training?

Where employers provide portable extinguishers for employee use, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157(g) requires an educational program at initial employment and at least annually thereafter, and employees designated to use extinguishers must receive training on their use. Live-fire practice is how that education becomes a skill instead of a poster.

What your team practises

Four skills, hands-on

The PASS technique

Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep, performed on a live fire until it is automatic rather than remembered.

Extinguisher classes and choice

A, B and C fires, which unit kills which, and what happens when you choose wrong.

Fight-or-evacuate decision

The size-up that matters most: when 10 seconds of extinguisher work is right, and when the only right move is out.

Live-fire discharge

Every participant puts out a real controlled fire. Not a demo, not a video, their own hands on the unit.

Onsite or open enrolment

The only course here where bigger groups genuinely cost less per head

Live-fire setup is the fixed cost; adding trainees is cheap. The result is a real volume discount, straight from the live store.

Common questions

Answers operators and search engines look for

Yes, a controlled live fire, managed by the instructor with safety protocols throughout. Every participant discharges an extinguisher on it personally.

29 CFR 1910.157(g) requires extinguisher education at initial employment and annually where extinguishers are provided for employee use, with hands-on training for designated users. Live fire is the strongest way to meet the hands-on intent.

The live-fire rig, fuel and safety setup are the fixed cost of the session. Once the fire is lit, training 25 costs little more than training 10, and the pricing passes that through: $55 per person at 10 down to $28 at 25.

A yard, dock or open area at your site with basic clearances. Send us your location and we confirm feasibility before you book.

Most operators run it the same day as CPR and AED or Stop the Bleed, one mobilisation, a full safety day.

You receive session documentation for your safety file: date, content, instructor and attendees, which is what an inspector asks for first.
